I would recommend this to any Biggie fan if you can find it. I do think it’s a new mix as well as a remaster. And I’ve had this album on CD since it came out. This one has sweet round bass but not overbearing. I find a lot of rap LPs / CDs have ridiculous bass, and are completely low end heavy. I imagine it is a digital source, but I don’t know. Sound quality: I would say this is the best I’ve ever heard this album sound. The 1995 release has "Who shot ya?" but does not have "Just Playing (Dreams)". Both are up to the level of everything else on the album. “Who shot ya?” and “Just playing (dreams)”. It also has 2 extra tracks not originally released on the CD. It has the original cover art (plus “the remaster LP” written below). So while I typically want to get the earliest pressing possible, this is the one I ended up with. Discogs listing I just don’t think it’s nearly as cool. Unfortunately, they changed the iconic album cover art (the baby with the fro), to a picture of Biggie.
#NOTORIOUS BIG VINYL FULL#
Of course, a year later in 1995 with the popularity of the album, they re-released it as a full double lp release with all the songs. If you look at the original 1994 vinyl release Discogs listing you’ll see that it is a only single LP and missing 8 songs “the intro’, “things done changed” “suicidal thoughts” “me and my bitch” “unbeilevable” “friend of mine” “fuck me (interlude)” “everyday struggle”. The great thing about this album, is that it is a double LP and has all the songs from the original CD release. I don’t know how many were pressed, but I don’t think too many as it was never for sale.

BORN AGAIN proves not whether the man would stand atop the hip-hop hierarchy had he lived, but reveals the amount of love felt for the Notorious B.I.G. Tracks like the Duran Duran-sampled "Notorious B.I.G." and "Dead Wrong" are perfect showcases for Biggie's patented lumbering and relaxed baritone flow. On BORN AGAIN, the whole rap world turns out to pay tribute at this latest reverent, raucous wake.īiggie still eerily fills the center of this rap universe with Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, and other luminaries from both coasts and various camps filling in the rhymes around him. These questions can never be answered to any satisfaction, though it's only fair to recall that Biggie had sold millions of records and seen the top of Billboard's album and pop singles charts long before he went out bigger than his life.
